Marco Conti is a Research Director of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Since September 2019, he has been the Director of the CNR Institute of Informatics and Telematics and Head of the .it Registry. He was Director of the CNR Department “Engineering, ICT and Technologies for Energy and Transport” (December 2012 – November 2016), and Scientific Advisor of the CNR for the ICT area (October 2016 – September 2019).
Since March 2018, he has been a member of the 2003 Group, which brings together Italian scientists who work in Italy and appear on the lists of the world’s most cited researchers in the scientific literature. Since June 2022, he has been a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Agency for National Cybersecurity (ACN). As part of the NRRP, he coordinated the creation of the FAIR enlarged Partnership (“Future AI Research”) on Artificial Intelligence, and currently chairs the Technical-Scientific Committee of the FAIR Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the SERICS (“SEcurity and RIghts in CyberSpace”) Foundation, which coordinates the NRRP enlarged partnership on cybersecurity.
