General Manager and Technology Leader, IBM Italy
Alessandro La Volpe is General Manager and Technology Leader di IBM Italy, a position he assumed in July 2024.
Previously, he was Vice President Worldwide IBM Sustainability Software Sales & SaaS Sales Leader, in charge of the IBM’s portfolio of software designed to help organizations around the world turn their sustainability strategies into performing and measurable actions. He also led SaaS sales for IBM’s entire software portfolio.
He has ten years of experience at international level, in which he held in Europe the roles of business leader of Small and Medium Enterprises and IBM Ecosystem development leader.
During his career at IBM, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in Italy, from large client sales to the head of hardware business to becoming Vice President of the Cloud &
Software divisione and, later, of the IBM Technology one.
He launched IBM’s first Business Accelerator in Israel and led Start-Up development programmes in Europe. In 2019, he brought to Italy the IBM Garage methodology and team, as part of the international network of centres dedicated to the digital transformation paths for companies of all sectors and sizes.
Since October, he has been Director with responsibility for the Digital Transformation of the PA of Anitec-Assinform, the Italian association for Information and Communication Technology of Confindustria, and sits on the board of AmCham Italy, the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy.
He holds a degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Milan, an MBA from Henley Management College and a professional certification from INSEAD. He is also Adjunct Professor in Transformative Innovation at MIBE, Department of Economics and Business Sciences, University of Pavia.
