Giulia Pastorella was elected as a Member of Parliament of the Italian Republic in October 2022. At the Chamber of Deputies she is a member of the 9th Parliamentary Commission ‘Transport, Posts and Telecommunications’. She is also Vice-President of her party Azione and she has been Municipal Councillor of the City of Milan since autumn 2021.
She graduated in Philosophy and Modern Languages from Oxford University, specialising in European Affairs with a double master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po. In 2016, she obtained a PhD in European Affairs with a dissertation on technical governments at the London School of Economics, where she also taught as associated lecturer for three years. In the same year, she was named by Forbes as one of Europe’s 30 Most Influential Under 30 in Law&Policy.
She is an expert in Public Affairs. Before being elected, she was in charge of institutional relations with the European Union for a number of major technology and digital multinational companies.
She published the book “Exit Only, what Italy is doing wrong on brain drain” (Laterza), in which she addresses the issue of skilled migration in Italy.
